My Studio Table - A Blog Hop

My online buddy Seth Apter from The Altered Page is hosting a blog hop tomorrow. We are suppose to show our studio tables in all of their messy glory. Well, my table is beyond messy. I need an art room! I have one corner in my bedroom, and it is so full of clutter that I can't use the table. Who knows what I really have in those piles?!

I guess these photos explain why I create so much digital art. If I want to create physical art, I have to gather my supplies and go down to the kitchen table. You no doubt can tell that's a window behind my mess. The light is not a big, holy halo surrounding my artwork as it may appear at first glance. :-)

I'm sure you will want to visit the other artists participating in this blog hop. Seth has a full list of links on his blog. The actual hop is tomorrow Sept. 18 th.  Be sure to tell Seth I said hello!

Stand Up To Cancer

One of my online friends, Deann, created this. I wanted to share it with everyone. My wife had cancer almost 10 years ago.

Deann creates fantastic digital art. If you would like to visit her blog, the link is:

The only thing that came to mind was craziness.

Stain Glass Words

Sometimes when my head is full of too many thoughts and emotions, I have to use words instead of creating collages. I just wrote this at 1:30 am tonight/morning. I saw the phrase stain glass words in the latest issue of Victoria Magazine while looking at the magazine since I can't sleep.

stain glass words
written with the ink
of raindrops falling through
rainbow prisms
gracing the written page
with sparkling emotions
and kaleidoscopic connotations
recording the love of kings
and their romancing of queens
whilst making wilted rose petals
infuse blood red again
and molding broken hearts
into the legends
that dreams are made of

I think a collage of words can be as helpful as a collage of pictures.
I talk about using poetry in the third week of my new class, but in the simpler and often more beautiful form of haiku, to help us get out of our head. If you would like to take a look of the description of the class, please click on the link below. My brain seems to be hung up on being so broke tonight, and I thought sharing this among friends might put my brain to rest.
