The 2016 Art Journal Caravan Has Begun!

If you have been one of my Blogger friends for a number of years, you may have seen some of my posts from when I was a member of Tangie Baxter & CO's Art Journal Caravan. I was a member of the Caravan for four years in a row. Then, for some unknown reason, Tangie didn't host the Caravan last year. I think she freaked out for a year or something. But, lo and behold, the Art Journal Caravan is back this year for 2016! If you would like to take a fun journaling adventure, please join us. You can check out all the information at:

The theme word for this month is "uncaged." Below is my first digital compilation.

Background and cage by Tangie. Person and camel by me.

In Honor of Le Musée du Divan Rouge!

Betty Parker-Knowles created a very fun museum called "Le Musée du Divan Rouge." I created my second chandelier on black in honor of her museum.

Chandelier On Black

Journal 52 - My Word For 2016

After spending literally months of being sick, I thought this word was the most appropriate to have for 2016 - both physically and mentally!

Journal 52 is a free year-long journaling group on Facebook.

My Chandelier Series

I've said it before, "I love chandeliers!" I would love to live in a log house lit by many styles of chandeliers. That's kind of a contradiction, but it fits my personality. I love nature, but I love color and sparkle. I love the rainbow trails crystals make when light shines through them. I also love leaded and stain glass windows. Maybe it's my French heritage coming through. Anyway, my family has never been the type to have chandeliers in the house. I guess I was always the oddball. Now, we don't have any money to buy a beautiful chandelier. I decided I could make a series of chandelier pictures, though, and maybe I could get them printed and framed. I still have to find a picture of an all crystal chandelier to add to the series.

What do you think? Do these capture the colorful elegance?

I found the crystal chandelier I wanted to use, so here is the fourth picture:
