Received Blog Award - Passing It Forward
My online friend Dave gave me a blog award. He says my artwork is inspiring. Wow! That's exciting news to brighten up my day. (It's been raining buckets here in Michigan for two days, and it's suppose to turn into snow tonight. In other words, no sun. I needed something to brighten up the day!) I wanted him to pass along his iPad2, but he's given me the the award below instead.
Dave's work always inspires me, too. He works with multimedia, and creates wonders with his photography. If you would like to visit his blog, the link is: http://clearerreflections.blogspot.com/
Now the hard part. I'm suppose to pass the award to five blogs that I find inspirational. There are so many I visit whose owners create beautiful and inspiring art, but many of them have already received this award. I've come across several blogs whose owners don't want to receive awards, though, so if that includes anyone below, please just accept my gratitude for being you.
Without further ado, I'm passing the blog award along to: (please visit their blogs so you may be inspired by them)
Marguerite at http://redballoontothemoon.weebly.com/blog.html
Pam at http://pamtsartloft.blogspot.com/
Martin at http://starwatcher215.blogspot.com/
Grannie Annie at http://thewhimseyasylum.blogspot.com/
My friend June already received this award and has it posted, so I'm just going to list her link so you may visit her wonderful blog at http://junibearsjottings.blogspot.com/
The idea is for those recipients who receive this blog award to pass it on to others. Sharing gratitude is suppose to be good for us. I will send you an email later today with the picture of the award in case you want to pass on the award, too.

Textures of Man
Most elements from TFS' kit "Greg's Anatomy." I use to love science, and I had to buy this kit when I saw it was on sale.

"Change Your Look"
Dedicated to my younger musician friend Jimmy Whitman. As he would say, I have too much time on my hands. I bought a digital kit made by MZimm called "Sound of Music." When I saw the instruments, Jimmy popped into my brain, and I had to create one of my crazy digital collages.
(That's so funny, Jimmy. I corrected the spelling!)

Ruins
I was sitting fooling around with free brushes I downloaded for Photoshop, and this is the picture I ended up with. You just never know where the muse is going to lead! Maybe I should go watch a movie like Ivanhoe now.
Knight and moon from Holliewood's "Void" kit.

Artella's New Classes
Yes, I get a small kickback if you sign up for one of the courses by clicking on the picture below. But I post about them because I really love Artella's e-courses. I think I've taken 7 of them. It's amazing the amount of art you can create when you are given wonderful creative stimulus! Then you can share your beautiful art with us by posting it on your blog. Both of these sound like fun to me, especially if you like mail art.

Make Your Own Music
I couldn't sleep (which seems to be a continuing problem lately), so I turned on Cocorosie and created this digital picture.

Art Journal Caravan - An Affirmation
On Studio Tangie's blog, Julie Ann asked us to post affirmation pages in the Art Journal Caravan gallery. This is one I created tonight. It's not so much an affirmation as a proof of survival of an abusive childhood.

Fashion Sense
I bought a copy of the November issue of "Digital Arts" magazine that included a download of the weird shapes I used in this picture. There is a tutorial in the magazine about how to use them, but I haven't read it yet. I just played around with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, and this is what I ended up with.

Digitalmania's Flickr Challenge Week of 11/11/2011
The challenge at Digitalmania in Flickr is to create a piece of art in the style of one of your favorite artists. I love the journaling pages created by Teesha Moore. I created a digital collage in her style.
The man with monkey is a stamp I purchased from Teesha Moore's site. The border pieces are from a kit by CrowAbout Studio B found at Deviant Scraps.

Creating Time: Using Creativity to Reinvent the Clock and Reclaim Your Life
This is exciting! The cover is out for the new book written by Marney Makridakis. She is the founder of Artella. Some of you may have seen the magazine Artella - "the waltz of words, art and spirit" that was published for several years. Marney was the creator of that magazine. Her new book Creating Time is going to be available in April of next year. I can't wait to read it!
This is especially exciting for me, because one of my digital collages is being featured in the book. I could post the picture, but that would spoil all the fun. Everyone has to wait until April. Well, you'll also have to buy the book. :O)

Mark Kanemura
Mark Kanemura was a contestant on Season 4 of So You Think You Can Dance. I love that show! Now he is one of Lady Gaga's principal dancers. I love dancing. I saw this picture of him, and decided to play around with it. Lady Gaga is a little too extreme, but . . .

The Three Muse's Challenge - Window
Who's Watching Who?!
This is version two of the picture I posted below. The window elements are from Holliewood's "Stark" and "Void" kits, and the sea creatures from Gypsy's "Mercurial Trench."
DigitalMania's Flickr Challenge - In Style of R. Gonsalves
"A Bird's Eye View."
R. Gonsalves does some wild stuff! I tried to use windows and water to imitate what he might do. I have another take for tomorrow's Three Muses Challenge whose theme happens to be "windows."

Sock Monkey
I'm taking online classes called "6 Degrees of Creativity." One of the classes is about creating sock monkeys. It is suppose to be therapeutic. Well, I actually made a sock monkey, completely sewn by hand. This is good for a laugh! I still may add hair on him. I'm not use to sewing, though!
He is kind of interesting don't you think?

Midnight Craziness
This is the kind of weird stuff I create when I can't sleep.

Tommy in France - #2
If you already looked at this, I reposted the picture. I wasn't liking Tommy at all. He's a little better here. I just need to keep practicing drawing!
