Picture of My Mother
I have been working on a picture of my mother to use on her eulogy brochure in the event she does die soon. It's a horrible to thing to think about, but something that needs to be done. This is one I've done so far:

Facebook Friend Challenge
An artist-type friend that I know only by Artellaland, Lori Minnick, posted some great photos of a grungy truck on her Facebook page. When I left a message saying how much I liked them, she challenged me to grab one and play around with it. How could I resist a challenge like that? Besides, it was nice to have a fun distraction from everything that is going on in our family.
Lori's original photo:
Here's my altered version:
Yep, it's crazy. I'm sure you didn't expect anything less! I hope you like it, Lori.
(The man is from a digital kit from Crowabout Studios B named "Rusty." The woman was Googled.)

Received A Big Surprise Today!
That was me receiving a surprise today. (Yikes. It's a good thing I'm not surprised too often.) A package came from my friend Marguerite who lives in Eureka, California. I opened up the package and found this:
It was a beautiful tin box full of goodies to cheer me up and take my mind off what is happening with my parents. Wow! Is that a true friend or what?
I decided not to open everything up on the same day, because then I'd have lots of days of surprises. Good surprises, that is. This is one little box I opened up today:
It was hand decorated, and inside it are seashells and "pussy willow friends." How neat is that?! Did you ever have pussy willow friends? I did when I was a little kid growing up. I'd make pussy willows into mice, and then have lots of friends. (Being a kid is a lot more fun than being an adult.)
I had to look at at least one more surprise today, and this is it:
In case you don't know what it is, it is a "Moonlight Chronicles" zine. I have wanted a Moonlight Chronicles zine for several years, but have never ordered one. It seems like every time I thought to order one, Hobo, the name the writer goes by, was in Hawaii and not accepting orders. If you want to check out his web site, it is: http://moonlightchronicles.com/ Thank you, Marguerite. I finally have a Moonlight Chronicles zine!
Yep, thanks to Marguerite, today is a good day!
Three Muses Challenge - Architecture
I created this last night while I couldn't sleep. We are still waiting for my mother to die. She is in the hospital, and their staff can't get her to eat, either. She is so thin and is acting euphorically happy. We feel like we don't even know the person she is now. It is truly amazing she is still alive.

AJC Week 20 Quote - Edison
Element from Tangie's "Parcels 19 and 20" and KiKeKa's kit "Unteal We Meet Again."
Life continues to be unbelievably horrible here, so I had no choice but to go crazy with color!
Art Journal Caravan Week 20 Wordography - Gallivant
Children and back color layer from OTBDS' kit "Mudpies and Fingerpaints."
When life seems to be dealing you more than you think you can take, it helps to look into the eyes of children. Our grandson Corben had fun at the lake Saturday. He knows how to live one moment at a time.

Steampunk Heart
Elements taken from Mr. Whiskers' new kit "Steampunk 2." Background from Mr. Whiskers' first "Steampunk" kit. This is a little bit dark in subject, but my 82 year old mother stopped eating 5 weeks ago, and we are waiting for her to die. We had to put my 83 year old father in a nursing home this afternoon. This double whammy doesn't leave room for too many smiles.

Digital Whisper Weekend
The gang at Digital Whisper had a "challenge" weekend. I joined in on three of them. It helped to keep me from dwelling on what's happening with my mother. She's drinking a little bit of Boost a couple times each day now, but it certainly isn't enough to sustain her. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Anyway, I won't bore you with the details of the challenges, but as you can see, my entries are basically nuts. :O)

Living in the Present
This month in the year-long Life Book class being hosted by Tam at Willowing, we are working on living in the present. She had us create a calendar where we could write down just a couple of thoughts about each day in May. This isn't going to be a very fun month for my family, so I created a crazy looking calendar to make the month look a little more joyous. If my mother should happen to die this month, at least I can write it on a happy looking calendar.

Three Muses Challenge - Hats and Crowns and Wings and Things
This challenge just lends itself to craziness!
Most elements from Rucola Designs' kit "Return To Fantasy."
Yep, chariot is spelled wrong, but Billizetti thinks it makes life more interesting.
