ACT 11 - Week 2 ARTsignment
For week two, we were suppose to create something that showed the ARTbundance principles in some form of art. This is what I created:
I'm really enjoying these ARTbundance Certification classes! You can find out more about the classes if you want to by going to: http://www.artellaland.com/ACT.html

Thundersnow!
What a day we're having in Michigan! We had thundersnow all morning, and now it turned to rain. There are flood watches out because of all of the snow on the ground. Who knows what tonight will bring?!
I was trying to capture a shot of the two cardinals sitting in our backyard tree, but it was snowing so hard the camera didn't capture the color. The one on the right was a bright red male. The female is on the left. Happy February!

Take A Word Challenge - Vintage
It must be the never-ending snow that is making me thinking of the beach and swimming. I am so tired of winter! But poor June is being blown away by the storms in the UK, so I better stop complaining. Hang in there, June!

ACT 11 - Week 1
This is the muse I created for myself that would be an impetus to keep moving forward in the ARTbundance Certification Course each week.
The photo is a picture of my maternal grandfather Norris Hill. He died when I was young, but he is the one who inspired me to love roses and beautiful gardens. I once wrote an article about him that was published in the Country Homes Country Gardens magazine.
The following digital collage was inspired by the video we watched for this week.

I think this is going to be an exciting 14 week course!

I'm A Trainee!
Most elements from R. McMeen's kit "Merrill's Spotted Dog." Billizetti and Pierre (dog) by me.
I am going to be developing short, fun, artistic and inspirational online classes. Most importantly, I am planning to offer these classes at an inexpensive price. There are so many classes I would love to take online, but they are simply too expensive for those of us who have been hit hard by the recession. I think online classes should be available to everyone! :-) Stay tuned!

Pink Saturday Feb. 8, 2014
I want to apologize to anyone who visited my blog last weekend. I was unable to visit many in return. Starting last Friday and continuing through today, we had three major health crises in the family. It has been a long, stressful week! Our son-in-law is still in the hospital, but at least his was a planned surgery. Our 3 year old grandson spent last Friday and Saturday in Emergency, and my 84 year old father spent last night and today in Emergency. I am very grateful for all who have passed on get well wishes and prayers! I am also grateful to have art as a means to escape into another world if even for a little while.
I know you will enjoy visiting the other blogs of participants of Beverly's Pink Saturday. Just click on the picture below to be taken to her blog where the other links may be found.

Much Better News
As of right now, I have much better news regarding our grandson. The doctor that was treating him made his diagnosis before getting all of the tests back. The last tests did not show him having the auto-immune disease. He has the Fifth Virus on top of the Cat Scratch Virus on top of an ear infection. The little guy did not have to be sent to Mott's Hospital here in Michigan. We haven't seen him, because they are down in Sandusky, Ohio, but he is covered with the rash today that is part of the Fifth Virus. His fever finally came down, so as long as something else doesn't develop, he should recover in a few days.
Our son-in-law is still having his surgery Weds. A cancer doctor is going to do the surgery to remove the mass from his bladder, even though the mass isn't cancerous. It's a very serious operation due to the possible damage that a mistake could do to his bladder. Of course, now it is being predicted that we are going to get up to 6" of snow Tuesday night through Weds. This is the winter that is breaking the old records here in Michigan.
I didn't write about this before, but I'm scheduled for March 14 th. to have two tests done to be sure I don't have cancer of the esophagus or colon. I've had GERD for about 10 years, and have been tested before. It is easy to have cancer develop in the damage the acid reflux does to the esophagus.
Anyway, a third of the stress has gotten much better. We have to be thankful for the good things when they come along! Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes! Now if my head would just stop spinning . . .

Take A Word Challenge - Clocks
Da Vinci was always way ahead of his time!
Things are very upsetting in our life right now. We found out this weekend that our 3 year old grandson has Kawasaki Disease. It can be fatal if not treated immediately. He was in a hospital in Ohio over the weekend, but is being transferred to Mott's Children Hospital which is part of the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. That's why he was sick with 3 different viruses the past 3 months and passed them all unto me. He should get good care at Mott's.
Our 26 year old son-in-law, married to our youngest daughter and doesn't have children, has been very sick the past year with what they have discovered is a mass on his bladder. The doctor he was seeing said he wasn't qualified to remove it in an operation, because any mistake could mean having to use a catheter the rest of his life. The doctor sent him to a specialist at U of M hospital, and they scheduled the surgery for this coming Weds. It's going to be a long and nerve racking week!
