Three Muses Challenge #70 - Victorian

I haven't been feeling that great the past few weeks, so I haven't kept up with too many challenges. I love everything Victorian, though, so I'm going to cheat for The Three Muses Challenge this week. I had an article published in Country Victorian magazine that I wrote about the Victorian male. There is always so much written about the Victorian women (take Victoria magazine, for example), and I wanted to give us men an equal chance. I scanned the article, and hopefully you will be able to read it. Try clicking on the picture, and you will see a larger version.

What a great accomplishment to have this piece published and to come from the male perspective on this era. Kudos and thanks for sharing this!

Thank you for sharing, Bill! This is beautifully written, thoughtful and "spot on", as our Brit friends would say. Personally, I think today's young females might do well to adapt a bit of the femininity displayed by the Victorian women, and today's young males might do well to adapt a bit of the gentlemanly behavior of the Victorian males!

I so agree with Bev. Here anyway, you almost never see a female in a dress or a male in a suit. Women even wear trousers to weddings and funerals. Good manners seem to have flown out the window mostly.
Love your article Bill and hope you are feeling better.

Great article William and so true. I love the Victorian age myself so romantic, so elegant and so charming...of course there were some very grim elements to it too, but on the surface it was lovely. Thank you for sharing you wonderful writing talent.

Dear Bill,
It's so good we can share our jokes and laughter with our friends online but we also share thoughts and feelings and we support each other.
Thank you for prayers and good wishes for us and I am also thinking of you, your family and baby Corben. I hope by the time you read this the news is much better and he can breathe more easily.
It is very frightening when something like this happens.
Sending loving thoughts and prayers your way.

I am not sure whether I can take this piece seriously!! However, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it while all the while shouting "wotta load of bollicks" to myself. A wonderful piece of ephemera and a very romantic take on the Victorian era.
