I dug a small pond in our backyard. This year it was full of tadpoles. The tadpoles have now all turned into little frogs. They are so cute! Well, if you like frogs, that is. I took a couple of pictures with my iPhone. The frogs have just lost their tails, and are now sitting on the lily pad leaves. I just love watching them! Unfortunately, our dogs do, too. Except they want to eat them. If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you may be able to make out the little critters.
Our first "day lily" planted by the pond has blossomed today, so that makes me really happy. Our backyard is all clay unfortunately, and I have a terrible time trying to get anything to grow.

Oh, how great! Such a garden pond must be a wonderful place to sit, watch, dream and listen : ) I like frogs too; their sound soothes me (unless they are many big toads).
How cool, Bill! We live about a block away from a brook and in the spring, the air is filled with the sound of what my mother always called "Peep Toads"! As they grow older (and some get the travelling bug and come all this way to live on our lawn!!), they sound bigger and grumpier, although I'm sure they are perfectly nice! I haven't seen any yet, but I hear them all night long! I'm just happy they are here to eat bugs, of which we have plenty!
I love your day lilies!!! So pretty!

Nothing cuter than a baby froglette!
Lovely pics Bill. My grandson found a huge toad in our back garden last week and put him in another place of safety. xx
