I made an art journal out of mixed media paper. It's almost full, so I decided I should do something with the cover. I remembered a technique I learned in a class about painting something so it looks like faux leather. I tried it on the cover, and I love how it looks! :-)
It's about time I get some mixed media work posted here, right? :-)

Fall Art Challenge Two - Use Some Fabric
I did this in my art journal. (Thus the funny middle part that the scanner can't handle.) The elephant is actually material I cut out
of old boxer shorts. Oh oh. I hope that isn't TMI! I'm mainly excited
about the boy. I love Mindy Lacefield's style of painting faces. I
haven't taken any of her classes, but I bought the digital version of
her book "Wild Surrender." There are a couple of pages in it about how
to do a face.

Marguerite's Journals
I've mentioned my friend Marguerite several times in some of my blog posts in the past. She is such a creative person that sometimes I get jealous of her unstoppable creativity. She has created over 235 art journals! She posted a video on her blog showing some of the pages she has done. I wanted to post the video here on my blog, because I think it is such an incredible accomplishment. I've started a couple of journals, but have never filled up one. Marguerite is my art hero!
