Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap Blog Hop

Kat Sloma from Kat Eye Studio hosts a wonderful "Liberate Your Art" postcard swap each year. I was very happy to be able to participate this year. I received six wonderful postcards from fellow artists I have never met, and I now possess a small piece of their art. It's such a fun way to meet other artists and share a part of their world. One postcard each participant received is from Kat herself. Kat is a wonderful photographer and teaches fantastic photography classes. She is also such a generous hostess! The postcard below is the one I received from her.

Her web site can be found using this link: www.kateyestudio.com.

The following are the postcards I received from the five other new artists friends.

Postcard by Linda Ursin. You may visit her web site at: http://lindaursin.net/gallery/

I don't have the name of the person who sent this wonderful postcard, but whoever it was must have intuitively known that I love dogs.

This beautiful scene is by Kat Van Rooyen. Her work can be see on her blog http://arty-kat.blogspot.com/

It was so wonderful to receive this postcard while spring seemed to be on a holding pattern. It was sent by Siobhan Wolf from wolftale.wordpress.com.

The last postcard portrays the love every artist has in their heart - paint, brushes, cans and grungy messes. It was sent by Renee Martinez.

Just in case you want to see the postcard I made, here it is:

I think moose are fascinating creatures, so I decided to play around with the Abercrombie Moose. :O)

I hope you  have enjoyed seeing these postcards. If you would like to visit the other artists who participated in this swap and are also participating in the blog hop, I'm including their links below:

Postcard Swap Part 1

My friend Marguerite Bryant and I participated in a postcard swap hosted by Kat Sloma at www.cateyestudio.com. We sent 5 postcards designed by us to Kat, and in return, she mailed us back 5 postcards from people we have never met. She also added one more that was a postcard made from one of her own photos. There is going to be a blog hop where we post the postcards we received from the other participants. Marguerite, however, sent me the 5 postcards she made since there was little likelihood we'd receive others' postcards.

M, as her friends often call her, loves to create art while listening to jazz. She hand drew 5 different people renowned in the jazz world and made them into postcards. Wow! I love her drawings, and wanted you to see them, too. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I did.

In order of their appearance, they are Ella Fitzgerald, Thelonious Monk, Nina Simone, Chet Baker and Billie Holiday. Aren't these fun?!
