The Smell Of Roses

I can't wait for the weather to continue warming up. The roses should start blooming in June. I love roses! I painted the background with watercolors, and then put on acrylic splats. :-)

Wild Roses

I hadn't done an actual painting in probably two years. I found a class I wanted to take by Laly Mille called, "Wild Roses." I've done this one so far, but want to start another one, as it doesn't look much like the techniques she was teaching. :-) I was just so happy to be painting again!

Found Roses

It's been a gray, rainy weekend. I saw this quote about finding roses, and thought it was exactly what we needed to brighten the day.

Beauty's Inspiration

Lani asked us to find three things that inspired us and would inspire us in training our elephant. (You'll need to read Lani's e-zine to find out what training your elephant is all about.) I really enjoyed seeing the roses in bloom, the water in our pond, and the beautiful moon. I, of course, had to represent myself jumping into the middle of all of that beauty.

Eveline

Here are two more photos of roses. They are named "Eveline" and are by David Austin. I love these roses, not only because of their beautiful pale pink color, but also because they have a slight scent of lemon. The bush use to be covered with roses at our first home, but it hasn't bloomed as profusely since we moved the bush to our present home. They still make me happy when they bloom.

Flowers To End The Day

I spent the afternoon with my father in the nursing home. His dementia is getting worse, and he is looking terrible. I'm wondering if he won't die sometime this year. My mother died last year, and maybe it will be my father this year. He's been struggling with diabetes, and the diabetes is winning. I thought I'd post a few roses from our backyard to end the day on a better note.

Dare I say, "Pleasant dreams?"

Quotes and Roses

I created this to attempt to follow the tutorial suggested by Tom at Digital Whisper. Unfortunately, my brain couldn't handle the tutorial. Egads! I must be getting old. Anyway, the roses and border are from Hollie's kit "Rose Is A Rose." The quotes are from Tangie Baxter's kit "Tangibles 005." The background is made of many layers combined by me.

For Martin's Poem

Martin (starwatcher521) from Germany writes many beautiful poems. I created this digital collage after reading the one he posted yesterday. http://starwatcher215.blogspot.com/2011/05/flower.html
