Gelli Print Tree

This was "gelli printed," and then I embellished it afterward. I felt like doing a tree after writing the poem in the last post.

Being A Tree

It’s not easy
being a tree.
Bearing the weight
of so many important things.
Snowfall in the winter.
Standing wet in the spring rain.
Spreading shade during
long hot summer months.
Losing parts of ourselves
to the autumn chilly winds.
Always standing tall
as the guardians of mother earth,
giving shelter to her children,
protection to the ground below.
If only you could hear our stories,
those tales written now
and from long ago.
It’s not easy
being a tree.
But a nobler service
there could never be.
