I spent the afternoon with my father in the nursing home. His dementia is getting worse, and he is looking terrible. I'm wondering if he won't die sometime this year. My mother died last year, and maybe it will be my father this year. He's been struggling with diabetes, and the diabetes is winning. I thought I'd post a few roses from our backyard to end the day on a better note.
Dare I say, "Pleasant dreams?"

My thoughts are with you, Bill. I have walked the road you are on with both of my parents and my heart goes out to you and your family. Please know that seeing beautiful roses like these bring very happy memories to me of my own darling Mother, who loved roses and had a garden of them in front of the house where I grew up, filled with every color and variation of scent imaginable.
Sending happy thoughts and wishes to you,
Betty
It's difficult in this situation to say something uplifting. I just hope the best according to the circumstances.
Lovely roses! Pick yourself a nice bouquet to look at and smell whenever you start feeling down about your dad. There's nothing like Michigan roses! They remind me of coming home. My dad always had a beautiful bouquet of roses and other flowers on my desk when I came home. If it was autumn, then a bouquet of dried roses with feathers stuck in that he found on his walks through the woods. Roses are so healing and uplifting! Thank you for these lovely photos and for sharing what's on your mind and heart. Prayers for you and your dad. Wow, I just realized: tomorrow is father's day!
Roses are my favorite flower and it was delightful to view your photos today as they provide a peaceful view when life gets complicated. Hope your father has a better day; it is hard to watch their life deteriorate.
DEMENTIA IS A HORRIBLE THING, WATCHING YOUR LOVED ONE SLIPPING AWAY. MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU AND TODAY I LOST MY MUM 4 YEARS AGO...
TENDER HUGS! XX
