Three Muses Challenge - Music
Life is always interesting. I didn't create much on the computer during December, because I had a virus that lasted a month. It still feels like it hasn't quite left my chest. At the end of December, we had 6" of snow. I hoped that would be it. I never claimed to like winter. Last Sunday, winter let us know it was just beginning by dumping 10.5" of snow on us. It took me 3 attempts to get us shoveled out. I was determined I was going to do something for the Three Muses Challenge this week, and since the temperature dropped to the lowest we had in years, it was the perfect time. (Monday night the temperature was 14 below zero with the wind chill being 35 below zero. Unbelievable!) I ended up creating two digital collages for the Three Muses Challenge. However, the weather knocked our cable out. We have not had TV or the Internet for almost 48 hours! All that means I am very late in posting for the challenge. Oh well. At least I haven't dropped dead like it felt I was going to. Actually, I think our friend June in England had the bug first. I don't know how it managed to cross the Atlantic, but evidently it was a very strong bug!
By the way, I can't claim responsibility for anything in the collages. I have only survived the past month by drinking hot toddies - whiskey, lemon, honey and hot water. I could be in a drunken stupor for all I know.

Make Your Own Music
I couldn't sleep (which seems to be a continuing problem lately), so I turned on Cocorosie and created this digital picture.
Some elements from Holliewood's "Stark" kit.

Music . . .
(Most elements from Marta Van Eck's digital kit "Master of Puppets.")
That's actually me playing the violin. The picture was taken eleven years ago. Yikes! Why won't time slow down? I wanted to take violin lessons while I was growing up, but that was one of many things I wasn't allowed to do. About 20 years after being married, I decided to buy a violin and take lessons. I was starting to sound decent, but we couldn't afford for me to keep taking lessons. Even back then, lessons weren't cheap. I keep thinking that now I've taken an early retirement, I ought to get my violin out again. The problem is, we definitely can't afford lessons at this point. What's a person suppose to do?

I Hear a Symphony!
My friend Tammy, a member of Marguerite's Ning site Heart's Desire for Joy, sent me a CD full of wonderful digital music ephemera. I played around with some of it today, and this is the end result.

Three Muses Challenge - Music
Life continues to be more exciting than I'd like it be, so I'm posting a picture I did a couple of years ago. It's pretty bad when one's brain can't even handle creating digital art! Oh well. I love this picture, because I love gypsies and their music and sitting around the campfire. I wish I could find the original picture for you to see. It was the flamenco dancer on a stage at a performance. It took about 8 pictures to create this one. That's what is so fun about digital art - creating something new from the old.

Perry Como Lovers!
Evidently all of my online friends are a bunch of Perry Como lovers. No one had anything to say about the CocoRosie Fairy song I posted. Oh well. I guess I'm just a more hip, younger, and all around more fun guy than the rest of you! But don't get all offended now. I'll let you in on a secret. I bought Susan Boyle's CD when it came out. I think it's safe to say she's the complete opposite of CocoRosie. I just love all kinds of music. Well, not all kinds. I don't like rap. I won't even tell you how I really feel about rap, because someone might come and beat me up. We live pretty close to the hood. But I do love Jennifer Hudson, Beyonce and Fantasia. No one can say my choice of music is racially divided. I learned to dance to Gladys Knight, Diana Ross and the Temptations. Whoa. That's giving away my age! I guess I better not even mention how I watched the Beatles the very first time they were on Ed Sullivan. But CocoRosie is my current love. I guess strange people really do attract strange people.
