I love the old Stephen Foster songs. Your collage is wonderful, Bill. I love the use of rich textures and tinting. A fantastic style.
(The Swan River runs through my home town in Western Australia. It is named for the black swans which are native to this region)
PS - Saw your note about organising elements. I make folders for each designer and file all their elements under their name. This makes giving credits easy. It is also a good idea to have a folder for favourite backgrounds and/or elements that you can go back to easily time after time.

The Suwanee River rises from the Okefenokee Swamp and rambles down through Florida to the Gulf of Mexico. After visiting Foster's home in Bardstown, Ky., which is beautiful country, I wondered what fascination the Suwanee held for him. Wish we could talk to him about it! Anyway, I love your illustration and I love the song.

Bill, you have done this song proud. Such rich textures and blended layers makes me try to peer into the scene to see more. Gorgeous, my friend.

You Tube is doing overtime this challenge because I want to watch all the songs.
Your song reminds me a little at the folk Cajun music style but thats probably because of the banjo :)
I liked it Bill and your piece is Fab !!

I love all the layering and texture - which I was there instead of her!

Great piece, Bill. I grew up singing this song although I'm sure I didn't know where the Swanee River was at that time.

Great layering of images and background in this piece.

Beautiful image and words, a little melancholic ... though I think it would look more eye-soothing without the background text : )
