Hi William.

I also spent the first half of my life being told how 'stupid' I was, so I can identify with this piece. I was lucky though.

Lovely piece of writing and art. :-)

Have you ever spent quality time with that hurt little boy inside? One of my fav movies is "Drop Dead Fred." It's a fun and funny movie, but there is also a deeper message to it about healing and loving our inner children. That healing is a long road that sometimes goes on long after the person who hurt us has died, but it's a journey worth taking. I am still on it myself, and I have come too far to turn back.
I'm so sorry that you were hurt like that. I send you a huge hug. You are so far from "stupid" that it's laughable, really! You are one of the smartest, kindest, creative and thoughtful human beings I know!
LOVE YOURSELF!
And rent "Drop Dead Fred!"

Awe another victim of parents who tried to criticize there kid to perfection...I have a feeling there are a lot of us who can't out run the voice in our head. I live next door to mine literally she doesn't say it out loud anymore she just purses her puckered little lips and I know exactly what she's thinking...It's alarming.
Hug your kids and tell them how wonderful they are...maybe we won't pass it on. Then hug yourself because you're a great guy Bill and you deserve it...after all God created you and he don't make no junk.

M and Grannie Annie have said it all Bill and you know how much I agree with them.
Just think they didn't know any better. Perhaps they were treated the same. Be proud you have broken that vicious circle with your wonderful children. Tell 'em you love 'em every day!
Big Hugs
xx
